February 13, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.

By Anna Lockhart.

Metal color and design experts share their insights into the benefits of providing customers with the endless possibilities of metal walls!

In a recent MetalCast™ episode, host Karen Edwards sat down with Kiki Redhead and Brynn Wildenauer of Sherwin-Williams to discuss the benefits and advantages of choosing metal siding and walls in your next project.

Brynn, the architectural color designer for the coil and extrusion team, and Kiki, the global head of color material finish and trends, together have decades of experience working with architectural metal design and the various color trends that have hit the market over the years. The latest trends, they explained, are all about metal walls and the unique design elements they can add to a project. Kiki shared, “There are so many opportunities and a variety of options with metal walls, from colors, finishes, effects, textures and prints. It really gives us the chance here at Design House to create unique creative collections of colors to help our teams sell color and to help the contractors to showcase all the different opportunities that are out there.”

The teams at Sherwin-Williams have worked to expand the creative design elements and looks of the metal coils they create, giving customers a wide variety of options to choose from to create the perfect, modern building. Not only are metal walls a great choice of building material for those looking to add depth and a unique look to a home or building, but it’s also a great option when it comes to durability. Brynn explained, “It's great for durability, weatherability and longevity. Wall panels that are metal coated are very low maintenance products. And at the end of the life of the wall panel, the metal is recyclable. So, a lot of perks go into it. And, aesthetics are very important when we talk about building facades.”

As the residential and commercial markets continue to show greater interest in choosing metal for their projects, a greater desire for unique colors and finishes develops. Kiki and Brynn emphasized the growth contractors are seeing, and will continue to see, in customer interests for metal projects. So, now is the time to jump on board the metal express and investigate the endless possibilities they can offer customers with metal walls and siding!
