As the market’s desire for metal roofing and siding grows, metal professionals are looking to purchase roll forming machinery that can handle the demand in both number and quality. New Tech Machinery has recently updated their WAV™ Wall Panel Machine with these needs in mind, adding an exciting new feature to the machine, the Variable Frequency Drive (VFD).
The Variable Frequency Drive is a device within the machinery which monitors and directs the level of power the motor receives, a function that users of the machinery can adjust to their desired frequency. Before the inclusion of the VFD, the WAV machine produced an average of 150 feet per minute, which is a speed some jobs might not need. To better suit the changes in demand and pace for individual customers, the inclusion of the VFD makes it possible for users to adjust speed and productivity based on their preferences at any given time.
Machine users can choose from a range of speed settings, defined as 20% speed (30 feet per minute), 50% speed (75 feet per minute) or 100% speed (150 feet per minute). This flexibility can come in handy for metal professionals who see fluctuations in customer demands or for those who are just getting started and plan to see a need for growth in the near future.
The inclusion of this nifty VFD device is also beneficial for metal professionals with machine safety and longevity in mind, allowing for better accuracy and efficiency.
