In Season 1, Episode 24 of MetalCast, Heidi J. Ellsworth sat down with Sebastian Jimenez, the founder and CEO of Rilla to talk about Rilla and how it is pushing the industry forward. The Rilla app is a software that analyzes speech and transcribes it. Sebastian explained, “We use AI to automatically transcribe, analyze and give salespeople feedback to help them improve their sales and to help them get better at talking to customers.”
Before Rilla, Sebastian had a marketing management software company. He explained, “Our software was this very basic management software to schedule the events, get data from the event.” In his work with this company, he realized that there was a gap in the marketing management software due to missing data. He recalled that one of his clients was having four million face-to-face conversations with consumers each month, which would provide 10 times more data than they were getting from social media analytics each month.
The problem was that there was no way to contextualize these meetings at the time. And that was where the idea for Rilla began. It wasn’t a smooth path, Sebastian shared, “The concept was right, but it was a lot of failure in between.” After a few years of struggle, Rilla became one of the fastest-growing startups in world history.
Today, Rilla software can be incorporated into a company’s existing sales processes. This not only helps the company’s sales training, but it also benefits the clients. The incorporation of AI allows companies to standardize and track their customer service and improve it across the board easily. This ensures that they are getting the best experience possible, no matter when or who they call. As Sebastian explained, “Tools like this enable human beings to become the best version of themselves and you end up seeing a great benefit to customers, which shows up in sales and growth and profitability.”
