How Spartan training inspires business strategy

In this MetalCast, host Karen Edwards sat down with Dominic Caminata, founder of Grosso University, to discuss the AGOGE Growth and Profitability Summit. Dominic explained the summit's name and its roots in Spartan warrior education. "The Spartan Warriors had an education system... it was called the agoge and essentially it was from the point that they were six or seven years old to the time that they were in their twenties or thirties... So essentially carrying on that Spartan warrior theme, we have the AGOGE Summit," Dominic said. 

At the heart of the summit is a focus on more than just sales and marketing, which is often the primary focus of industry events. Dominic noted, “What about production? What about operations? What about systems and processes to make sure that I cannot just generate a lead and sell it and convert on it, but also install it and collect on it? Because where do you make your money at the end of the day? It’s not in sales and marketing.” 

The AGOGE Summit, which will be held November 14-15, 2024, at the Omni Resort in Amelia Island, Florida, will feature a lineup of successful entrepreneurs and industry leaders. Dominic teased the caliber of speakers, saying, "I have one guy who’s going to be speaking that sold the nine-figure business in about four years... I also have several people who literally are running businesses with a 25% net profit consistently year after year." 

In addition to formal presentations, the summit will offer ample opportunities for networking. Dominic stressed the importance of these informal interactions, saying, "The magic of these events is one part what you get from the main stage, but also what you can get in just a one-on-one conversation with another business owner."
