Giving Back is What It’s All About

A.C.T. Metal Deck Supply, Aurora, Illinois, volunteered at the Northern Illinois Food Bank as part of their strategic planning to give back to the community.

Employees from A.C.T. Metal Deck Supply came together on May 17 to give back to others during these challenging times. Employees volunteered at the local food bank in Geneva, Illinois.

During the two-hour shift in May, they sorted and packed 3,300 pounds of food which provided 2,750 meals for their neighbors in northern Illinois during their fifth event at the food bank since 2020.

“It was such a rewarding and fun day – what a great feeling to help others,” stated Nick V. Polizzi, President of A.C.T. Metal Deck Supply.

In the United States, one in nine people struggle with hunger.  While the coronavirus pandemic has impacted thousands of people in a myriad of ways. It has also brought into the forefront the hunger issue in the U.S. 54 million people may face hunger in the during 2020, including 18 million children.
