The National Women in Roofing Oregon Council (NWiR) is pleased to announce their partnership with the Home Building Foundation (HBF) once again. They have partnered with many projects over the years and this summer they are kicking it off with Project Homeless Connect of Washington County. The project consisted of a 2 layer tear off, rafter and overhang replacement plus a full resheet before installing the new roof. We had 12 roofers show up to install and many other companies represented in other areas, such as, material donation, equipment, disposal, food and water donation, and a lot of ground clean up. We are so thankful to have an amazing group who values these projects.
Brenda Ketah is the executive director for the Home building Foundation. She had these words to offer. “Home Building Foundation-HomeAid Portland is thrilled to work with National Women in Roofing on another shelter project. The volunteers are fantastic to work with and every detail is planned and organized. We are very appreciative of this partnership and can’t wait for the next one!”
Stephanie Baird, General Manager for Bliss Roofing, is the Community Outreach Chair for the Oregon Council of NWiR and she was the main contact who coordinated these efforts. She gave an update to the council on June 8th that the project had been completed. Baird said, “What an amazing way to spend National Roofing Week by partnering with the Home Building Foundation to gift a new roof to Project Homeless Connect of Washington County! ….Our roofing gift is valued at $35,000.00 and was only possible due to the contributions and collaboration of many!”
The following companies all helped make this project possible: Owens Corning Roofing, Dealers Supply Company, Bliss Roofing, inc, Stalcup Roofing & Construction LLC, Solid Roofing NW, Malarkey Roofing Products, SA Roofing, Raindrop Roofing Northwest, Roofline Supply & Delivery Lake Oswego, Integrity Insurance & Bonding Inc., and Cool Roof Rating Council.
