In the MetalCast episode, “Advantages of Metal Walls,” host Karen Edwards sat down with Kiki Redhead and Brynn Wildenauer of Sherwin-Williams to discuss the benefits and beauty of installing metal walls rather than other building materials in modern building projects. Kiki and Brynn are both color experts with Sherwin-Williams, and together have a wealth of knowledge and expertise when it comes to color and product design trends.
The two expressed why metal walls are the must-have design feature in any upcoming building project, and why contractors should consider metal over other materials. Kiki shared, “There’s so much variety. There are so many opportunities and there's such a variety of options with metal walls, from colors, finishes, effects, textures, prints. It really gives us the chance here at Design House to create unique creative collections of colors to help our teams sell color and to help the contractors to showcase all the different opportunities that are out there.”
As a part of the Sherwin-Williams Design House, Kiki and Brynn are up to date on all the latest color trends and work first-hand with identifying trends across the industry to find out what consumers are looking for when investing in the design of their building projects. Brynn explained, “There's a lot of opportunity within the technologies that we develop in the coil business around wall panels. And it's a really big area for growth for us. We’re really expanding on what are all of the options that we can offer from all of the finishes and different technologies for our customers.”
As many contractors and metal professionals know, metal materials are far more durable and long-lasting than other building materials on the market. Not only that, but coated metal wall panels offer the bonus of being very low maintenance when it comes to upkeep and can easily be used to elevate a space’s aesthetics.
And metal wall panels aren’t just a good idea for commercial projects, they can be used in residential projects too. Kiki shared, “In residential, we see more board and batten type looks, plank. As you think about something like vinyl siding and the way that that's laid out on a residential home, we can mimic that appearance with a different metal profile. In commercial, we see much larger or flat panels, or the corrugated style.”
