Applications are now being accepted for the MRCA Foundation Scholarship Program! A non-profit organization established by the Midwest Roofing Contractors Association (MRCA), the MRCA Foundation looks to provide financial assistance to MRCA member employees and their families pursuing higher education at an accredited college, university or trade school.
You are eligible for the 2024-2025 school year scholarship if you are an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a trade school, college or university, or if you are a high school student provisionally accepted at an educational institution expressing intent to pursue a degree with at least a 3.0 GPA or B-average equivalent.
In addition to submitting a completed application by April 1, 2024, you must submit proof of being associated with an active member of the MRCA, an official transcript, two letters of recommendation, a written statement of acceptance or enrollment in an educational institute and a typed essay explaining what area of study you are pursuing, how it affects the construction industry (if applicable) and why you should be considered to receive a scholarship from the MRCA Foundation.
The letters of recommendation should be from coworkers, community members, teachers or mentors who can speak to your academic experience and work ethic. Additionally, the essay should not exceed one page, and should include any steps that you have taken to pursue your goal of going to college or to a trade school by explaining any relevant honors, activities or employment.
Recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance, employment experience, financial need and a demonstrated desire to pursue further education.
Visit the MRCA Foundation Scholarship page for more information and apply online or download the application. Don’t delay! Applications and all supporting documents are due April 1, 2024.
