The Importance of Building a Foundational Sales Method

Developing a sales method that works best for your company and making it the foundation of your sales team’s routine can make a major difference in securing sales.  

In an episode of the MetalCast podcast, Heidi J. Ellsworth sat down with Grosso University CEO and founder, Dominic Caminata, to discuss the importance of forming foundational sales skills and practices to create a uniform and strengthened sales force. They discussed how, with the help from sales professionals like the team at Grosso University, businesses can shape a formidable sales team that can boost metal sales through proper training.  

Without an understanding and respect for core values and accountability, it is hard to create a sales team that is, across the board, successful and consistent in their roles. In order to be successful and moldable into the ideal member of your sales team, the salesperson needs to have a base level of understanding and ability to communicate the brand identity to customers. By creating a foundational, standard sales training program and standard practices, businesses can significantly increase their sales team’s success and ability to accurately represent and promote the company and its products.  

Domonic stressed the importance of laying the groundwork of forming standard training and practices, “I see a lot of people, they're trying to build all the sales, revenue and volume and they don't have that foundation. Eventually they hit a roadblock and even worse, it implodes on itself because all of a sudden, they just got 30 salespeople doing it 30 different ways. And there's no method of the madness, no accountability.”
