With the residential roofing market in an upswing, particularly for metal roofing, the Metal Roofing Alliance (MRA) is taking an active role in supporting roofing contractors. This was talked about during a recent MetalCast episode, hosted by Heidi J. Ellsworth, featuring Renee Ramey, the executive director of the MRA.
She highlighted the MRA's initiatives to spotlight quality metal roofing installations through their photo contest. Besides the attractive $300 gift card prize, winners receive a professionally written case study promoted across various platforms, giving them extensive marketing exposure.
As Renee explained, "It's just doing a nice job with a beautiful product that fits the architectural style of the home and is a roof that will last for a lifetime potentially." The contest showcases the aesthetic versatility of metal roofs, featured on a variety of home styles.
Discussing the collaboration between MetalCoffeeShop™ and the MRA in sharing photo contest entries, Renee emphasized the power of partnerships in promoting the metal roofing industry.
"We've seen year over year increases since I've been in this role especially. So yeah, I think awareness is out there," said Renee, pointing to the strong demand for metal roofing, especially during spring and summer.
But the MRA's role isn't limited to promoting the product. For contractors looking to grow their metal roofing business, the MRA extends its support by offering training program references, connecting contractors with manufacturers, and providing marketing resources.
Renee succinctly summed up the MRA’s ethos: "We're here to lift you up and help you be successful at getting metal on roofs." As Renee shared, the MRA's target is reaching a 25% market share by 2025. With their continued support for contractors and their drive to increase consumer awareness, this target doesn't seem too far out of reach.
