For customers looking to save money on a new roof or wall installation, retrofitting can often be the best choice for them. Rather than spending time tearing the roof off, there are a few metal panels on the market that can be installed directly onto the old roof and provide it with a longer lifespan. One you should consider for your next retrofitting project is Exceptional Metals’ EM Retro-R® Metal Panel.
The EM Retro-R metal panel can be used to retrofit an exposed fastening metal roof system. It can be installed directly over PBR or R-Panels with minimal prep work and accessories. It is coated with Galvalume® Plus and Signature® 200 and is available in 13 colors.
This panel can be used to retrofit compatible roofs and walls with a minimum slope of ½:12. It’s available in 29 and 26 gauge and even has a protective fleece underside, making steel-to-steel contact impossible. The EM Retro-R Panel has also been weather-tested for high wind and uplift standards, making it a terrific choice for roofs in all climates.
Tum-A-Lum Lumber Company (pictured above) in Hood River, Oregon decided the EM Retro-R Panel was the best choice for their building’s roof for a variety of reasons. Their current R-panel metal roof was 35-years old, and the owners knew it could not last for a long time, especially due to the area’s frequent rain and windy conditions. Because their company served many residents and other businesses in the area, they knew that tearing off their old roof would disrupt their sales. That’s why they decided the EM Retro-R Panel was perfect for their building.
Renee Coffman, consumer business development manager at Tum-A-Lum Lumber Company, said “We were able to serve our customers and didn’t lose any business during the entire project.”
