In a recent MetalCast episode, host Karen Edwards sat down with Paul Watts, the innovative mind behind Watts Removal Products. Known for tackling everything from scuff marks to graffiti on metal surfaces, these products have gained significant traction, with a stamp of approval from brands like Sherwin-Williams.
Paul, a painting contractor with decades of hands-on experience, shared the journey of his products and their critical role for contractors and homeowners. Reflecting on the science behind his solutions, he said, "People say our products work like magic, but it's really chemistry."
Throughout the conversation, Paul shared some eye-opening stories. One particularly memorable tale involved a contractor who faced a dilemma with fingerprints on an expensive copper installation. "The homeowner was holding up a $60,000 check. He said, 'Clean it or replace it.' With a little elbow grease and our products, we did a test spot, and the homeowner said, 'If you can do that on the whole project, I'll write you a check.'"
Watts Removal Products are also part of the MetalVue program, an initiative by Sherwin-Williams designed to support contractors from start to finish. Paul praised the program, saying, "MetalVue gives contractors everything they need to be successful in metal. It's great that we're part of it, helping them finish projects and get paid."
Watts Removal Products was in the spotlight at the Sherwin-Williams booth during the 2024 International Roofing Expo where attendees could tag and write on a metal wall and witness the magic of removal.
