The Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA) has released a new video, MBCEA 2024 Building of the Year, on its YouTube channel, @MBCEA. The video is a comprehensive look at this year’s winning project undertaken by APX Construction Group of Mankato, Minnesota, the Truck Center Companies new sales and service center in Mankato.
“Our newest video provides a detailed look at the Truck Center Companies project,” says Sasha Demyan, MBCEA executive director. “The 2024 overall winner shows how versatile metal buildings can be and won out over an outstanding group of entries. This video is a valuable resource for anyone who is interested in metal buildings and what is possible with a great team.”
The video features interviews with several key players who worked on the new facility. Jamie Jacobs of APX Construction Group discusses the Truck Center Companies’ need for a new sales and service center and the resulting building. Architect Dana Hlebichuk, AIA, with Widseth Architects, discusses the challenges of the project and the solutions they crafted. Kurt Pesch of Metallic Building Systems, the metal building provider, also talks about the inherent flexibility of metal building systems as well as the aesthetic value of the metal roof.
