MCS Influencer John Sheridan says that including gutters in a metal roof sales proposal always adds great value.
Gutters are a key component to all roofing systems, but there are a few important things to consider when incorporating sales into a metal roof system:
- Availability. Do manufacturers in your area offer matching gutters and accessories to match their systems?
- Cost vs convenience. Is it worth buying a gutter machine to run gutters in house, or is it worth the extra cost to have the manufacturer supply gutters with any metal roof system? While the cost per foot is less to make your own gutters, you have to consider the convenience of ordering a complete gutter and accessory package from a manufacturer. Standard K gutters at 5” and 6” and standard downspouts at 2”x 3” and 3”x 4” (as well as all of the corresponding accessories) would require a substantial investment in the equipment and a few employees to run that equipment. Regardless of how you choose to supply gutter systems on a project, the inclusion of gutters in any proposal is a great ‘value added’ addition.
