Information and communication is key to the metal industry's success

MCSI - Kyle Nurminen - Information and communication is key to the metal industry
May 23, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.

You must build solid business practices that ensure long-term commitment and the best possible protection for the communities we serve.

MetalCoffeeShop™ is proud to connect the metal industry through our influencer program. In this program, experts and professionals from across the industry come and share the expertise they've gained through their careers. One such expert is Kyle Nurminen. Kyle was born and raised in the midwest, served in the U.S. Navy, completed his backelor's in organizational management and now reprewsents Total Roofng Systems. His introduction to the industry took him through a crash course in natural disaster recovery with Hurricanes Charley, Francis, Ivan, Jeanne and Katrina. Now, his goal is to use his understanding and experience with roofing failures to help others take proactive, preventative actions to keep more people and roofs safe.

With his extensive knowledge, MetalCoffeeShop wanted to ask him why it is so important for metal construction companies to embrace technology and if he has any advice to those companiews for staying current. This is what Kyle had to say:

With the increasing awareness of the benefits of metal roofing, and no source for policing our industry, I consider it our duty as metal roofing professionals to keep our communities properly informed. This starts with the implementation of a good CRM system that ensures we maintain consistent communications with them, and embracing social media & multimedia platforms to ensure we are creating content that really gets through to whichever focal group we are meaning to connect with. Of course, all of this requires a financial commitment, and a willingness & commitment to change. And that, however, takes leadership that is difficult to find in our industry these days, so we may as well embrace modern methods of recruitment as well.

None of this is easy, but it is the cost of building solid business practices that ensure long-term commitment & the best possible protection for the communities we serve.

Kyle Nurminen is a commercial and premium accounts management specialist at Total Roofing Systems. Read his full bio here.
