Where will you be July 23-24, 2024? Save the date for Mastering Roofing Estimating, which is a two-day workshop led by expert John Kenney of Cotney Consulting Group that will help you level up your skills in roofing estimating! Becoming well-versed in accurate and consistent cost estimates is a cornerstone of any successful roofing project. This training is the perfect opportunity for professionals to develop their skills, as it takes you beyond theory by offering hands-on experience in the classroom.  

Overall, the workshop is focused on taking a deep dive into the art and science of roofing estimating, which includes bidding and cost management, for both low-slope and steep-slope projects. Attendees can expect to get practice performing detailed quantity takeoffs and prepare robust project estimates encompassing direct, indirect, overhead and profit costs. Check out a more detailed breakdown of what this workshop teaches: 

  • Estimation techniques: Understand how to develop conceptual, preliminary and detailed roofing estimates. 
  • Quantity takeoffs: Master the skills needed to measure and allocate units of work effectively.
 
  • Data organization: Learn how to collect and organize estimation data systematically. 
  • Cost sources: Identify reliable cost data sources and understand the key components of labor, equipment and materials. 
  • Project management: Determine optimal crew sizes and productivity rates and assess site conditions influencing cost estimates. 
  • Cost allocation: Gain expertise in allocating direct and indirect project costs, including contingency and escalation factors. 
  • Bidding strategies: Develop strategies for competitive bidding and validating cost estimates. 
  • Scheduling: Learn to create project schedules based on your cost estimate data. 

This workshop is in person in 122 E Main St, Lakeland, Florida 33801, running from Tuesday, July 23 to Wednesday, July 24. The registration fee includes lunch and is non-refundable. If there is a valid reason you cannot attend once you book this date, you have the option to attend a later event with your ticket.
