A star-spangled makeover for Duck Dynasty star Si Robertson

CDG Star spangled makeover Si Robertson
October 3, 2024 at 9:00 p.m.

By Hannah Ford.

Veteran Si Robertson’s new roof pays tribute to his military legacy.

Si Robertson has worn many hats throughout his lifetime. He’s been a tv personality, a reed maker for duck calling and most heroically, an Army veteran. Si has participated in several shows but is most famously known for his role in Duck Dynasty. Now Si runs his own podcast called Duck Call Room. Northeast Louisiana Roofing wanted to show their thanks for his service and renovated his roof for free.

During the Vietnam War, Si was drafted into the U.S. military. He retired from the army in 1993 with the rank of Sergeant First Class. In Louisiana, he is recognized for his military contribution at the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum. The Duck Dynasty star has been married to his wife Christine for over fifty years and has two children. His son Scott decided to follow in his footsteps and became a member of the U.S. Army. Scott served eight tours in Iraq and when he returned to the U.S. he was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. Si has begun to use his platform to advocate for better care for veterans.

His home recently got an eye-catching makeover. His entire roof was redone and painted to look like an American Flag. Each shingle is colored in either red, white or blue. As Si continues to use his platform to help veterans, the new roof represents his own time in the military, his sons hard won contributions and the millions of veterans who have served.

The project was the first home Northeast Louisiana Roofing had done in their larger initiative to provide home upgrades to veterans. A representative from the company, Jeremy Antley, said that Northeast Louisiana Roofing aimed to honor veterans. “It all kind of started with us looking to try to do a veterans program through Owens Corning,” Jeremy explained to KNOE 8. “But we ended up partnering with Owens Corning and we kind of made our own veterans program.”

Northeast Louisiana Roofing offers renovations to veterans in the area, especially if they are dealing with financial hardship. Jeremy shared, “If you are a lower-income veteran and you need a roof, we do have financing options available, and we can definitely get you a red, white and blue roof too.”
