Lucas Severance recently started Slate Valley Supply after working in the slate industry for over 20 years. Slate Valley Supply is a supplier of traditional roofing slates from Vermont and Spain. They also supply installation accessories. Born and raised in the Slate Valley of New York/Vermont, Lucas brings unique knowledge and experience in the traditional slate industry. Slate Valley Supply is focused on providing superior customer service to experienced roofing slate users along with introducing inexperienced users to great products and this timeless industry.  

Slate has been quarried in Vermont since the late 1850s. The industry is still very much alive yet is constantly attacked by low-quality and fake alternative products. It has always been Lucas’s mission to inform and educate the entire roofing industry about the benefits of traditional slate and to continue to promote the great products that Slate Valley Supply represents. This might be an old industry, but it has a great future ahead.  

Lucas is a graduate of The College of Saint Rose in Albany NY. He currently lives in Hickory, NC with his wife, Kim and their three children.
