Watch the show as the national television broadcast highlights the impact this all-women crew has had on the roofing industry!

Good Morning America recently featured the Texas-based roofing company, Roofer Chicks, on their daily show. The broadcast aired on July 14, 2023 and highlighted the impact of this standout business and how they are continuing to make waves in the industry even after fifteen years in the business as a primarily women-based crew.

This feature on Good Morning America shines a positive light on the work women are currently doing to remove barriers and making once male-dominated spaces inclusive for all. It shares a heartfelt and empowering message that it is possible for any woman to make an impact and place for herself within any field or industry.

Ami Feller, owner of Roofer Chicks, got started in the business through her brother and joining him during the summers on job sites. She recalled one incident where the guys on the crew were all hesitant to get on the roof – but not Ami. “So, I said that I would get on the roof. And from there, one thing led to another.”

From there, Ami continued gaining experience in the roofing industry and up on the roof, which eventually led to her creating her own business, Roofer Chicks. Ami emphasized the advantages of being an all-women business, such as a deeper attention to detail.  “Women, in general, have very good customer service skills and they have a lot of respect being in and working on someone else’s home.”

Roofer Chicks employee, Megan Smith, noted that as a primarily woman-based team, they put in a great effort to notice the finer things that customers appreciate. “At inspections, you can see all of the little details, like the seams are lined up perfectly. They’re things that I think we notice, as women, that men sometimes will just get it up there and be done.”

Watch the Good Morning America segment to learn more about Roofer Chicks and their story.
