Everyone Around the World is Working from Home

Nearmap the Whole World Works From Home
May 3, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.

By Nearmap.

Home is the new office, here's how Nearmap can help you manage change.

At Nearmap, change is something we thrive on. It's what we do. Change is the reason we are flying so frequently - to capture the continuously changing world.  We’re OK with change.

We also use technology to deliver this content online and in this way we’ve always enabled people to work safely. ‘You can get more done from your desk’ as we like to say.  Right now, however, that desk is more than likely to be at home, or somewhere else, secluded as best as possible from the spread of COVID-19.

To say these are uncertain times is an understatement. The on-going crisis is impacting organizations around the world, their employees and families. From us here at Nearmap, we’re with you. We’re all in this together. And we’re ready to help.

How Nearmap Aerial Imagery Can Help

Nearmap is committed to supporting your business. Our mission remains the same: We change the way people view the world so they can profoundly change the way they work. In this instance, the change is certainly profound.

For businesses there are immediate concerns. How do you support operations when key activities have been restricted? How do you bring the real world into management, planning and decision-making when ‘being there’ is no longer an option? These are the questions that Nearmap has enabled businesses to solve pre-pandemic, and will continue to do so in the future.

Whether you are a small business operator or a large construction firm, we can help keep you and your team going. Our coverage is vast, so the locations you need to see are likely already captured.

High-resolution aerial imagery provides clear, decision-supporting detail that satellite images simply can’t match. You can measure right from the browser, and look through years of historical imagery to see change over time and seasonality. Oblique images and Nearmap 3D content provide a powerful, new perspective, especially for tasks requiring an understanding of elevation. We’re ready to help you make the best possible use of our technology, to help you find ways to further enable your business.

The Nearmappers in our support team are ready to assist, whether that’s a quick brush-up on the tools or tackling technical problems. Likewise, our account managers will work with you to understand changing needs and how we can support your business now

Working From Home, at Scales

We’re a technology company. We provide our content online and we enable our staff to work flexibly too. Working remotely? Not a problem. At this kind of scale? That’s new. For all of us.

Working from home (WFH) used to be a perk, a time for focus, or a flexible work arrangement — part of the mix in a modern business environment. Now offices are closed and all desks are empty. This is WFH at scale.  This is what it feels like to have the whole world logging in from ‘somewhere else’.

How do businesses stay productive when the entire workforce is off-site? We won’t pretend to have all the answers, but will share this: companies are not made up of offices, they’re made up of people.

We’re lucky to have amazing people at Nearmap and they are 100% with you, supporting your business.

We’ll use this blog to keep you updated, so you’ll know what we are doing in response to the on-going COVID-19 crisis. We’ll keep you posted on products and services, of course. We’ve had no changes to our capture program and our aerial surveys are continuing.  (see FAQs below)

We also invite you to share your insights and experiences as well. Our customers are innovative, creative problem-solvers - our daily source of inspiration - so let’s shout out the successes, solutions and sheer tenacity. Drop us a line at info@nearmap.com and tell us how you are going and what you’re doing differently.

This is a surreal, isolating-yet-shared experience. Like you and your customers, we’re working hard, sharing ideas and inspiration. We’re learning how to keep going when everyone is apart. Let’s do it together.
