Try Your Hand at Metal Roof Installation at METALCON 2023!

Learn to install metal roofing from the metal experts themselves with the all-new METALCON tradeshow experience – Metal Training Zone! 

This year’s METALCON will feature amazing opportunities to network with metal professionals and learn about the latest and greatest metal innovations. As the largest tradeshow event dedicated to metal and the metal industries, METALCON is an opportunity for attendees to meet professionals in various trades and bond over their respect and love of metal. And for the first time, this year’s event will feature a one-of-a-kind opportunity for attendees to try their hand at working with metal.  

The Metal Training Zone was designed to showcase demonstrations and educational learning opportunities for participants to gain metal skills and a respect for the trades! The training zone will have a metal roofing installation segment, led by John Sheridan of Sheridan Metal Resources. With decades of experience in the metal roofing industry, John has a wealth of knowledge to share with those interested in the trade.  

In an episode of the MetalCast podcast, John shared with host Heidi J. Ellsworth what attendees can expect from the training zone. John highlighted the importance of opportunities like this, hoping to spark an interest and respect for the trade in those who participate.  

The training zone will have representatives from across the industry, like National Women in Roofing (NWiR), who will be there to encourage participants and answer any questions they may have. John shared that the training zone is an interactive place where attendees of all backgrounds will be encouraged to participate and gauge their interest in metal roofing. 

Representatives from the different companies who have donated materials for the demonstrations will also be present to discuss their product lines and offerings. John explained, “While we're doing the Vicwest shingles, somebody from Vicwest will be there to answer questions, hand out literature, that kind of stuff. And same with Drexel Metals and McElroy Metal. They'll come over from their booth and will be standing by to answer any questions while we're putting those systems together.”
