The Central States Manufacturing Inc. (CSMI) Board of Directors welcomes Christopher Harrison as its newest member. As an accomplished Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and business advisor, Chris has a 30-year track record of success in high-growth and value-creation settings for major brands and smaller companies globally. His diverse background in business, innovation and people makes him an excellent fit for CSMI's growth.
Dave Barr from CSMI sat down with Christopher to get to know him and hear more about his plans moving forward with CSMI. When Christopher was asked why this opportunity attracted him, he said, “I took the opportunity to inquire about the company strategy, culture, values and the emphasis CSMI places on hiring and retaining the right people. I was very impressed with Jim’s (Jim Sliker CSMI CEO) leadership style and his vision for the future. Life can be serendipitous at times, and once I learned about the board role several months later, I was eager to apply.”
Christopher’s plans moving forward with CSMI align with his actions in the past. Being a part of multiple companies that have grown billions in profit throughout his career, Christopher is looking forward to bringing that same goal to CSMI. “First, you’ve got to work tirelessly to have the right people, in the right roles, at the right time at all levels,” he explains. “Second would be to study and understand the current state operating model and business processes, and courageously face the fact they will need to be modified or even changed to accommodate the various stages of growth.”
Christopher is looking forward to his new role with CSMI, and with his experience as an inspirational leader and promoter of winning cultures, he is eager to help the company succeed.
