For the first RCS interview at the Internation Roofing Expo, Heidi J. Ellsworth sat down with Ski Wysocki and Alina Bosak from Chicago Metal Supply to talk about their booth and the exciting things that are coming soon from the company.
Chicago Metal Supply has attended the International Roofing Expo (IRE) for the last five to seven years to share their knowledge and passion for historic preservation and to talk about the restoration projects they have been involved with such as the Heritage Hall in Vancouver, British Columbia and the Lincoln County Courthouse in Lincoln, Illinois.
Ski recounts the exciting work they’ve done on the historic dome in Bangor, Maine and how amazing it is to add his own mark to a long history. “We actually got to recreate pieces that are over 120 years old... That's one of my passions, I love being able to feel and touch stuff that I know is going to be up for the next 80 to 150 years.”
Ski and Alina are excited about the other historic restoration projects the future holds for the company, as well as the work they are doing to make sure the business evolves with the times. “Alina will be taking over as president of the company and we’re currently working on getting our WBE Certification.”
With Alina on board, they hope to see her passion for the industry and their work bring forth a bright future for Chicago Metal Supply. “I’m excited to continue my father’s legacy. Copper runs in the blood, and it’s always been a part of my childhood,” Alina shared. “I’m excited to bring in the youth I’ve seen bigger companies do as we expand and open ourselves up to different possibilities.”
