Emulate™ has been in the making for decades now. This stunning series builds upon decades of Sherwin-Williams' color experts' experience. The process began with real-world research. In an interview for a Roofing Road Trips® podcast with Karen Edwards, Kiki Redhead of the Sherwin-Williams Design House explained: “There was a lot of trend research and a lot of consumer research. We wanted to hear the voice of the customer and really understand where the market is going. Not just for today, but for next year, five years, 10 years down the line.” Then, the research and development facility in Fort Myers, Florida is tasked with collecting real-world data to use laboratory testing. This ensures that these products can thrive through whatever the world throws at them.
The result of all this hard work is an iconic collection that can survive the test of time. This is no one hit wonder, Emulate stands out in the market by combining the strength of metal and beauty of the natural world. This durability is largely thanks to Sherwin-Williams' Fluropon® colored basecoat and WeatherXL and PolyPremiere systems. In that same conversation with Karen, Brynn Wildenaur, who also works for Sherwin-Williams' Design House, explained, “All of the things that we're working with are from our Fluropon, WeatherXL and PolyPREMIERE systems. Those have been in the market for a long time. Have been tested rigorously, over and over again and we have confidence in them and their performance.”
This technology ensures that, even as time passes, this star will not fade or show its age. Emulate will protect against corrosion, stains, rust, chemicals and general degradation and look good doing it. It was developed with natural materials in mind and offers unique design solutions. From stunning woodgrains to elegant stonework, Emulate stays grounded to its roots in nature.
