Since its launch in January 2024, EagleView’s SolarReady™ has provided roofing contractors and sales teams with the technological capabilities to reach more homeowners. SolarReady, a part of the EagleView solar suite, is the ideal solution for those looking to increase their solar sales and match homeowners with the right panels for their home. In a recent interview with Pete Cleveland, vice president of EagleView’s solar division, he shared the latest updates for how this new solution is changing how sales representatives reach customers.
SolarReady is a data service offered to EagleView customers looking to utilize the geospatial company’s aerial imaging and measurement data to accurately inform homeowners if their properties are ideal for solar paneling. This data service, powered by AI, can within seconds accurately determine if a customer’s property is suitable for solar. Pete shared, “SolarReady very quickly quantifies the solar potential of a structure. Using our high-resolution aerial imagery, it measures the details of the property itself as well as the potential design configurations and electrical output of the structure.”
Using this data, SolarReady provides the contractor or sales representative with a rating for how well suited the structure is for solar, all in about 90 seconds. Pete explained that this significantly reduces the time, labor and resources contractors traditionally would put into making a project come to fruition. Now, in about 90 seconds, they can determine if a property is a good fit for solar in the first place, completely reducing the effort and energy that would have gone into doing that work by hand.
“When prospecting territories, qualifying leads, we’re helping support your development of preliminary pricing for the project so that you’re not wasting all of the time, labor and resources on that sales and potential contract when it shouldn’t have gotten that far in the first place,” Pete shared. With this data service, sales representatives are able to put their time and efforts elsewhere, finding better and more profitable opportunities.
Pete emphasized the empowerment this solution provides for sales representatives and their companies. When consulting with homeowners, they’re able to provide a comprehensive report on whether their home is a good candidate for solar, in just the click of a button. “In about 90 seconds that roofer can tell the homeowner whether or not their home is a good fit for solar or not,” he explained. “And if it is a good fit, SolarReady can provide even more information in terms of potential electrical output, system size, etc. And from that, you can infer things like total project cost.”
Now, roofing contractors and sales representatives are able to provide their prospects with detailed reasonings behind their home’s suitability or unsuitability for solar with accurate data and details to back it up.
It is exciting to consider what this new technology means for professionals looking to expand their business with solar sales and for those who are looking to refine their existing solar efforts. Having such a digital service at the touch of a button is revolutionary and will certainly provide users with the information needed to help homeowners maximize their home’s energy savings.
