In a recent episode of the MetalCast podcast, Heidi J. Ellsworth sat down with the Executive Director of the Metal Roofing Alliance (MRA), Renee Ramey, to discuss the organization’s upcoming quarterly photo contest.
The MRA is an organization founded on the desire to help educate consumers in the benefits of metal roofing as well as to support businesses and contractors in the metal industry. This photo contest allows businesses and contractors the opportunity to showcase their recent metal projects with other professionals and consumers in the industry.
Renee discussed the contest process and why it is a great opportunity, “So, the contest is quarterly. All you have to do is submit a couple images and a little brief description of the home or the project or as a contractor, what was difficult about the job or what you love best about the job. It's just a description of what you believe tells the story of that roof. And we have several judging criteria, but in essence it looks at not just the aesthetics, but it looks at the type of product installed. It looks at the difficulty of the job or the conciseness of the installation. [The contest] is just a way to honor those that are out there doing quality work. And the benefit is if you win, you get a $300 gift card.”
Winners of the contest also have a professionally written case study done on the winning project, showcasing the hardworking people involved, and the MRA promotes the case study on their platforms to give the project even more publicity and appreciation from the public. This is a great opportunity for installers, manufacturers, and even building owners to get their name out there on the market!
