In our experience, in most situations a ‘Soldier Row’ pattern of snow guards can be just as effective as a snow fence. This is more cost effective, so both the roofer and homeowner benefit. However, if we’re looking at a geographic area with a very high snow load, steep pitch and low friction coefficient, then the best solution will most likely be one or more rows of a snow fence. Again, it’s a very individualized process for each roof and the satellite report is essential in providing us key information for each project.”
