RMSG roofer profile Francis Ruesta

By Rocky Mountain Snow Guards.

Experienced roofer, Francis Ruesta, answers questions about snow retention systems for his roofing projects.

Imagine a company of 500+ employees, all of whom are dedicated to serving as the single-source provider of commercial property services in the state of Colorado. That defines DCPS. Based in Centennial, Colorado, this mega-company provides property services support for office, retail, hospitality, multi-family, industrial and healthcare industries. And, while they offer every service from landscaping to painting to commercial cleaning, they’re keenly known for their roofing expertise.

Francis Ruesta serves as the estimator/senior project manager in roofing for the company. He works in both the metro areas and the high country, where there can be upwards of 170 pounds per square feet of snow that he’s dealing with when considering snow retention systems for his customers. That’s a key reason why he works closely with Rocky Mountain Snow Guards.

Q: What type of roofing material do you tend to install most, and what’s your favorite “go to” snow retention products that you use repeatedly with that material?

A: With our focus on commercial projects, we’re mostly installing shingles on multi-family projects. These don’t use snow retention systems too often. However, when we install synthetic roofing products, that’s different. Those materials really need snow retention. That’s when I get a quote and order from Rocky Mountain Snow Guards.

Q: What’s the most challenging/interesting roofing project you’ve ever done where a snow retention system was involved?

A: There’s this great custom home in Edwards, Colorado. It has a DaVinci Roofscapes composite slate roof with a turret. Getting the measurements right was very tricky for the installation of that turret. Then we needed a snow fence around the turret and some snow guards. Rocky Mountain Snow Guards came in to help with that aspect. It’s just a beautiful turret on top of natural stone siding.

Q: How often do you use the free architectural snow retention plan from Rocky Mountain Snow Guards when you’re working on a roofing project? Why are you using this service?

A: Whenever we know a snow retention system is needed for a project, we always turn to Rocky Mountain Snow Guards. A big reason is because of the liability involved in projects. It’s really smart for us to use their services. Also, I use their professional quotes and layouts to help educate the client about why and where snow retention systems are needed.

Q: What keeps your company coming back to Rocky Mountain Snow Guards for your snow retention needs?

A: Ariel, Neil, Lars and their respective teams. Truly they provide great customer service. We rely on Rocky Mountain Snow Guards and trust in their services and their products.
