In a recent episode of MetalTalk, Heidi J. Ellsworth sat down with Rob Soper from EagleView to talk about the exciting changes that are happening with technology and what that means for the roofing industry.
EagleView is a leader in geospatial technology and has used this technology to encompass over 94% of the North American population. This advanced geospatial technology and ability to capture precise measurements allows their roofing and construction customers to accurately estimate the measurements of properties they work on.
Roofing Passport was created in partnership with Sherwin-Williams for the metal roofing and reroofing market, designed to calculate a commercial or residential roofing project’s cost estimation with the click of a button. The digital platform can get property measurements quickly so that users can calculate the exact amount of materials needed, saving both time and resources.
“It's automating those human processes. Once upon a time, you used to have to drive across town and throw a ladder against a house, and walk a roof and take measurements, and put them on your piece of paper. Now you can get pre-ordered measurements and data of roof structures right through the computer,” Rob explained. “We take workflows that once took hours, if not days or weeks in some instances and compress those down into minutes or hours.”
EagleView partnering with Sherwin-Williams with this innovative technology has changed how contractors work. There is a bright future ahead with endless possibilities for contractors when it comes to the revolutionizing capabilities of property measurement and estimation.
