Remembering Gregg Nichols of Technical Assurance

in memorium - gregg nichols - irca
April 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.

We are saddened to report the passing of a long-time friend in the Indiana roofing industry, Mr. Gregg Nichols, of Technical Assurance.

Gregg passed away Wednesday evening, 3/29/23 while on a business trip near Cleveland, Ohio. The apparent cause was a heart attack. Gregg was 52 years old.

Gregg began his long career in the roofing industry working at Martin-Riley in Fort Wayne. Subsequently, he worked for two other roof consultants, STR-SEG and most recently, Technical Assurance. Gregg was well known, and well respected by many of us in the roof consulting and contracting business. He was a kind and thoughtful professional, who served as a skilled roof consultant to many building owners, school systems and municipalities around the state. He was reasonable and fair, always intent on getting the best result for the owner.

Gregg was married for 33+ years to his wife Bethany, his high-school sweetheart from Jay County, Indiana. He had three grown/married children; Josh, Molly and Hannah. He was a loving father and grandpa. His grandkids were the light of his life.

Services for Gregg will be at Venture Christian Church, in Carmel, Indiana. The exact date and time has not been established yet, but tentatively next Tuesday or Wednesday. Check the online obituary pages to find an update on this.

If you have memories or warm stories of Gregg that you would like to share with his wife or children (and they would appreciate them), use our online form. They will be collected confidentially by the Indiana Roofing Contractors Association (IRCA) and then transmitted to the family. Like most of our families, Gregg’s family probably didn’t know much about what “Dad did at work” or the impact his life had on others. If you have something encouraging to share with them, please take a minute to write a note.
