Being a software company in the home improvement space, the number one priority for Project Map It (PMI) is to provide great customer service to our clients. With great customer service comes great responsibility and we take that responsibility seriously. In order to support our Hispanic and Latino business owners, one of the first hires PMI made was a bilingual representative and boy did we luck out.
This past April, PMI set out to hire a person fluent in both Spanish and English, that would be able to support us by translating documents and videos, help in sales and help during the onboarding process. Out of hundreds of applications and 10s of interviews, PMI found the perfect employee in Perla Arias!
Perla was born in Mexico, where Spanish was her first language, however, many say that she has a southern accent. The accent could be because at the age of six, Perla and her family moved to Tennessee, where she has lived until just recently. Perla graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University with a Business major and a minor in Biology. Upon graduation, Perla moved to Pennsylvania with her husband Pat. Perla has always had a passion to help others and has been translating for people ever since she was eight years old. Her favorite food is sushi and she brags about eating three avocados a day. Her favorite thing to do is going to the beach, but she hates sunny days…go figure!
Since joining the PMI team, Perla has helped translate all of our marketing materials, along with translating all of our support videos. She has become our top sales person in the company and her bubbly personality and great attitude towards learning more about the home improvement industries, has made her a rock star at Project Map It. We absolutely hit the jackpot in hiring Perla and cannot be more appreciative of what she brings to the table.
If you are a Hispanic or Latino contractor looking to learn more about how Project Map It can help your business grow, you can reach out to Perla directly at parias@projectmapit.com.
