Do you have familiarity with the testing, installation or production of solar reflective, cool roofing materials, or simply have an interest in green building design and would like to help inform the next edition of the industry standard for the radiative performance of roofing materials? The Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) is seeking contractors and manufacturers to serve on a committee of subject matter experts for the next revision to the ANSI/CRRC S100 standard (CRRC S100).
The CRRC S100 is an American National Standard developed through a consensus process in accordance with ANSI and CRRC requirements that provides a consistent reference in energy and building codes regarding the measurement of the surface radiative properties of roofing materials. The standard covers specimen preparation and test methods for measuring the initial and aged solar reflectance and thermal emittance of roofing products. The CRRC will propose the addition of exterior wall materials for the next revision to the CRRC S100 standard.
The CRRC Consensus Body is the committee responsible for evaluating proposed changes and public comments on the CRRC S100. It is a balanced group of stakeholders representing three distinct interest categories:
Membership on the Consensus Body is open to all interested parties and not limited to CRRC members or members of any other organization. To learn more about the Consensus Body and the process to revise the CRRC S100, view the CRRC Standards Procedures.
If you are interested in applying for the Consensus Body, please visit the CRRC S100 webpage for details and to download the application materials. The application deadline is September 22, 2023.
