By Emma Peterson.
From articles to webinars and more, 2024 was a busy year at The Coffee Shops! Our amazing crew has been hard at work making content all year and we wanted to pause before the new year to take a look back on it all to see how far we’ve come, both as MetalCoffeeShop™ (MCS) and the larger metal industry. Here is some of the top metal content of 2024!
Our top article of the year was written by our crew member Anna Lockhart about the Certified Contractors Network (CCN) Winter Conference, Innovate 2024, which kicked off the 2024 trade show season at the end of January. This is just one of the many amazing articles we published this year (we saw over 1,200 articles come through!), so make sure to check out the rest in our newsroom!
How warranty and certification can build trust by Jena Jackson
And it’s not just the editorial crew that publishes articles on MCS, we have some incredible industry experts that, through our influencer program, share their knowledge on a variety of topics. This year, the most viewed article from our Influencer program came from Jena Jackson, the co-founder and majority owner of Indiana Metal, Inc., and is about how warranty and certification can build trust for contractors, suppliers and subcrews.
How to Start a Sheet Metal Shop
The MCS website might be the center of all our metal operations, but our YouTube has also, as the kids might say, been popping off! In other words, our multimedia crew is not only producing great content for our website, but they have made our YouTube channel another amazing resource for professionals in the industry. Our top video of 2024 was a conversation between Heidi J. Ellsworth and Chandler Barden of CIDAN Machinery about how professionals can start their own sheet metal shops.
The multimedia crew also had boots on the ground at METALCON 2024! Between all the amazing events and education sessions, they made sure to keep producing live streams, interviews and other recordings for anyone who couldn’t make it to Atlanta, Georgia in person. Our top playlist of the year is the compilation of dozens of videos featuring industry friends new and old!
Tools of the Trade: Malco's Drivers, Fasteners & More
This year also saw a wide variety of podcasts and webinars abut the metal industry. Whether you’re looking for legal information, recruiting tips, product recommendations or more, there is something in our Read Listen Watch (RLW)® series for you! Amongst all of those amazing resources, the top MetalTalk of the year was a conversation between Karen Edwards and Rebecca Talbot about Malco Tools’ line of high-performance drivers, fasteners and other tools!
Sealant Solutions for Modern Construction Challenges
In addition to MetalTalk, our incredible multimedia team produces MetalCasts! This podcast brings in metal professionals from the field to talk about the newest trends and information in the metal world. In our top MetalCast of 2024, Miguel Pena and Jacque Ince from H.B. Fuller stopped by to talk to Heidi J. Ellsworth about modern building innovations that address topical industry concerns such as sustainability, labor shortages, globalization and geopolitical challenges.
Top Instagram post: Instagram reel with Malco Tools
Our social media crew has also been making sure to keep people up to date in real time! The top post on our Instagram page was a video of a Malco Tools demonstration that started a deeper conversation about how metal bending tools can boost your roofing business!
Top TikTok: TikTok with Marc Jorns
We are also on TikTok and our top video of the year featured Marc Jorns of MetalForming at the 2024 International Roofing Expo (IRE). In it, he shares about the JPM Parts Manipulator and all the different capabilities it has. We love getting to see these incredible tools in action and are thrilled to share with you as we go. Follow us on all our platforms to explore the innovations of the metal industry with us!
