The National Frame Building Association (NFBA)’s Building of the Year Award winners will be announced soon! There are 24 different categories plus a Judges’ Award that NFBA members were able to submit to. They are divided into “weight classes” where builders within the NFBA membership categories of $0–6 million in annual gross volume compete in the “Expert” level and builders within the NFBA membership categories of over $6 million in annual gross volume compete in the “Masters” level.
All of the projects submitted were designed and erected by an NFBA member builder and utilize post-frame construction in at least 50% of the structure. Post-frame construction is defined by its wide column spacing with rafters/trusses that create the framing. Traditional timber framing mortise and tendon connections are not counted within this definition. Additionally, the project must have been completed between December 1, 2022, and November 30, 2024, by a current NFBA member builder.
The winners of each category will be notified in February 2025 and should prepare to have at least one representative at the annual NFBA Conference and Expo Awards Luncheon (two complimentary tickets are provided with the award). This year the annual expo will be from April 2-4, 2025, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Beyond recognition at the show, they will be featured in NFBA’s publication and website. Winners also receive a plaque to showcase their company’s high-quality work and achievements in their office! If you have any clarifying questions you can contact NFBA at (800) 557-6957 or e-mail awards@nfba.org.
As we excitedly wait to see who this year’s winners are, you should take a look at the incredible projects that took home the awards last year!
