Investing in the right equipment

Equipter Investing in the right equipment
August 17, 2024 at 12:00 a.m.

By Emma Peterson.

Learn how Equipter is helping contractors make sure they are finding the right tool for their project needs.

While at the 2024 International Roofing Expo, The Coffee Shops crew member Karen Edwards stopped by the Equipter booth to talk to Dave Beiler about their product line. Equipter specializes in manufacturing adaptable equipment made for roofers by roofers.  They discussed the Equipter 4000, an easily drivable and maneuverable trailer that helps contractors save time on site and presents the most professional face to clients.

Dave shared, “It's somewhat become the standard in roofing and because of how efficient it makes your crews. It also makes them safer and homeowners love it because it’s low impact and protects their landscape.” Dave explained how this incredible product came to be, “My dad, Aaron, was the original inventor of our Equipter 4000 trailer. He started a roofing business in 1987 and developed it out of the necessity for better equipment.”

And the company has not slowed down since! They have been listening to contractors about what they need and are coming out with the Equipter 7000 in 2025. This is another roofing trailer, but it has some new exciting features. Dave explained, “It's towable and it's also drivable. It can lift up to about 25 ft, which is quite a bit more reach than the 4000 and the other cool feature of the 7000 is that you can interchange the box for forks.” All these innovations and improvements are based on the feedback Equipter has heard from contractors.

Beyond using their feedback as guidance, Equipter serves contractors by making sure their products are accessible. For example, the 4000 has long been available for rental or for purchase. Dave explained why they did this, “We want people to get it on a job for a week or two, or even three to four weeks, and try using it on multiple job sites to see what it'll do and if you like it. We want them to have easy access to it.” This is a strategy they plan to continue with the 7000, so that contractors can be sure they’re getting a tool that will work for them.
