In most buildings and homes, the insulation, plywood decking and underlayments create an additional layer of protection and also play a role in reducing noise. For a home that has sufficient insulation, plywood decking and underlayment, another factor that helps reduce noise is making sure that the roof panels are properly fastened and secured during the installation process. If fasteners are not tightened all the way, they are likely to make sound in harsh weather or strong winds. By checking that all panels are properly secured, you reduce the likelihood of the roof making noise.
