Explore the three pillars of METALCON

METALCON 2024 is fast approaching and Judy Geller, the show director for METALCON, has the list of all the “can’t miss” activities, which she shares with Karen Edwards in this MetalCast® episode. This year METALCON will be in Atlanta, Georgia from October 30-November 1, where roofers can learn about the newest innovations in metal and meet specialized professionals in roofing. There will be three main themes of METALCON for 2024: connection, innovation and inspiration. 

1 - Connection 

Connection is the first theme of METALCON. When designing the conference activities and schedule this is one of the main considerations. “Connection is one of our major themes because building strong, professional relationships is absolutely crucial to the metal construction industry,” said Judy. “What we've done is design a whole bunch of things related to connections to take place at METALCON this year. For example, we're launching our first-ever speed networking program. We are having a Metal Mash-Up Welcome Party on the first day of the show.” Along with these events, METALCON is hosting hot topic roundtables and an international matchmaking program for international exhibitors to meet with U.S. distributors.  

This will mark the second year of the Metal and Mimosas breakfast for women in metal construction, another great activity holding true to the connection theme — MetalCoffeeShop is proud to be one of the sponsors of this event. “We are offering it again on Wednesday morning. We're starting early at 7:30 a.m. Registration is required, and any woman who is interested in joining us can come and join us for a networking breakfast,” shared Judy. “We have a fantastic speaker who will be sharing her experience with us about what it's like to head up a company in the metal construction industry.” The event is completely free with METALCON registration but does have a capacity of 50 people. There are still spots open for registration.  

2 - Innovation 

Innovation is the second theme METALCON is prioritizing in 2024. “Innovation is at the heart of progress in any industry, and construction is no exception, so focusing on innovation allows us to highlight all the major advancements and achievements that are going to be shown in more than 250 exhibitor booths that will be going on this year,” explained Judy. “We also have our Innovation Award winners who we will be revealing this year.” Even if you don’t plan on attending METALCON, you can vote for an Innovation Award winner. There is preshow voting and voting during the show. This opportunity allows METALCON to highlight not only the important innovations but the people who worked tirelessly to advance the metal community.  

3 - Inspiration 

The final theme is inspiration. “There's a lot of groundbreaking projects that are going on. We're going to be sharing our visionary keynotes with everybody, we're going to have kickoff speakers, we're going to have the Metal Construction Hall of Fame Awards, we have our future leaders getting together. On so many levels, the event is going to be so inspiring,” said Judy. “We really believe that the education and the exposure to the exhibits, the industry leaders, the education and just seeing and touching the equipment and the innovation that's going to be on the floor... It’s truly a unique experience.”
