At the 2024 International Roofing Expo, RoofersCoffeeShop® team member, Lauren White, caught up with Jason Hildenbrand of MTL Holdings, parent company of Metal-Era and Hickman Edge Systems, to discuss the latest news and products from the brand! One such product they discussed is the roofing and wall coping panel system.
The Metal-Era and Hickman brands manufacture and partner with manufacturers of aluminum composite panels to bring their customers quality metal materials to use in their roofing installation projects. At their booth on the trade show floor, they had some roof to wall coping on display, which is a product the brands were showcasing.
Jason shared a few details about the product and what makes them different from similar products on the market. He explained, “One of the challenges with aluminum composite panels is tying in the roofing system at the top and making sure that that's tested code compliance system. What we've done is develop a tested ES one compliant coping system that also integrates within the panel. So, you can install the panels independently of the coping and can maintain those clean lines. You maintain the aesthetic of what you're looking for all the way up throughout that design element.”
Such a system is beneficial for home and building owners as it not only maintains aesthetics but protects the roofing membrane and other roofing components from failure. Thanks to the testing and meeting code criteria, it is a reliable system that can protect the roof and structure from the elements for years to come.
Jason continued, “With this, you ensure that compliance, you ensure resiliency in the design and make sure that, that that roof system is going to stay intact and be part of that design going forward.”
