Stuck with a 41-year-old galvanized roof that was starting to deteriorate and rust, the owner of Benny’s Transmission & Auto knew it was time to seek a new roof. Located in Whitehouse, Texas, Benny’s needed a good bit of work on the roof and skylights to bring new life to the shop. They needed a solution that would give new life to the building without needing to close the shop for an extended period.
A solution that would prevent having to close the shop and lose revenue was retrofitting the 40x100 single-slope roof with MBCI’s Retro-R® panels. This solution was the best option, as the Retro-R panels from MBCI do not require the removal of the original roof. Instead, contractors can simply install the new panels directly over the existing roof. This solution allowed Benny’s to stay open and continue generating revenue without interruption from business as usual.
Another great solution for this project was that the installers were able to reuse the original trim from the building and did not have to remove or even disassemble the gutters, down spouts or rake. All the installers had to adjust were the ridge vents, moving them slightly after installing the new panels.
The result of this project was a stunning new look that brought life back to the building! By selecting the Galvalume Plus color coating on the Retro-R panels, the roof now has a 20-year roof warranty through MBCI and a great layer of protection from the sun. Coatings like the Galvalume Plus give the roof a high reflectivity, increasing the structure’s energy efficiency and help cut back on energy costs!
