4 stories of roofers giving back to their community’s

4 stories of roofers giving back to their community’s

These contractors donated their time and materials to help provide people in need of new roofs with a safe space.

For many in the roofing industry, helping others is top of mind. The following four contractors saw community members who were struggling with their roofs and used their skill and available programs to assist them in a time of need to give back to those who give so much of their time and effort to their community’s. Roofs are a significant investment that can cost well over $10,000 and these roofers removed that financial burden, ensuring these people and families can have peace of mind and rest easily.

1 - Highest Roofing and the Miramontes family

The Miramontes endured a troubling storm that resulted in major hail damage to their roof. Highest Roofing decided to step in and help where they could. Fernando Sagastume, administrator of Highest Roofing, based in Virginia, told WHSV News, “For us providing this service goes beyond just simply installing a new roof it’s about fulfilling our mission to positively impact the lives in our community.” Along with installing the new roof, Highest Roofing was able to support their community members. Highest Roofing knows the importance of helping families in need because they are a family -owned business constantly working together to help others.

After two days of removing and replacing damaged shingles, the Miramontes’ roof had been restored. Maria Flores Miramontes expressed her gratitude by saying, “They are an example of kindness and how to help people, help each other.” Looking out for one another is something the Miramontes’ value and they are extremely grateful for the help Highest Roofing offered.

2 - AmeriPro Roofing and veteran John Lemons

John Lemons, a retired Vietnam veteran, needed a new roof after several years of harsh windy days. “It can be hard to keep up with stuff financially — the wind out here is horrific,” said John to the Daily Record. “It’s a relief [to have a new roof]”.

While working at the Penrose VFW he was encouraged to apply for the Roof Deployment Project in Fremont County, Colorado. As John spent his days helping other veterans, he lived by the motto they shared at the Penrose VFW, “veterans helping veterans.” “Everybody helping everybody out is important,” he said. A panel of judges saw him as a well deserving and kind veteran in need of a new roof.

AmeriPro Roofing and Owens Corning teamed up through the Roof Deployment Project to provide John with his new roof. When asked to share his thoughts on the occurring events Jeremy Halfacre, the Colorado Springs AmeriPro branch manager, shared, “I can’t tell you how long and we’re excited to provide that service to homeowners [in Fremont County] so we can educate and advocate for homeowners through their exterior needs.”

3 - Level Up Roofing and the Wildings

In Northern Michigan, the Wildings family needed a helping hand. Their roof was in disrepair until Level Up Roofing stepped in. Justin Wilding told WBKB 11, “This is huge... It’s a huge burden off of my back and the whole families.” The roofing repair was estimated to cost $8,000.

This was the first time Level Up Roofing had participated in a project like this and the impact was immense. “We’re glad we live in such a great community and that they’re part of that community,” said Justin.

4 - Stephen Westfall Roofing and Committed Alliance to Strays Adoption Center

While many cats were searching for their new home, their temporary one was deteriorating. Committed Alliance to Strays (C.A.T.S) in Medford, Oregon had their original 30-year-old roof replaced by Stephen Westfall Roofing in an astounding act of kindness. “We're just very thankful for Steven Westfall Roofing and the community as a whole for supporting us throughout these years and through everything, and letting us continue to do what we love to do," Sandra Fowler said to KDRV.

The original roof was a symbol of the persistence three women had for helping numerous homeless cats. And now, after the Westfall’s mother, a fellow cat lover, shared C.A.T.S’ struggle, they knew they had to help. Sandra explained, “The community was offering to help pay for the roof, pay for roofing materials, but Stephen reached out to offer a free roof and we can’t beat free.” With a little help, the cats’ stand-in home is better than ever.
